Hello and welcome. I am so glad you’re here.
I know what it’s like to struggle in the darkness. 20 years ago my family relocated. The combination of leaving work, being a stay at home mom, losing my community and changing my sense of identity caused a well of despair I couldn’t climb out of. Certainly the lack of sleep from my toddler who was also struggling didn’t help matters, tho my issues lasted much longer than a few years.
I wrestled with anxiety, depression, shame, a stressed marriage, performance anxiety, imposter syndrome, digestive issues, and insomnia. I ate in order to numb the discomfort I was feeling. I felt angry a lot. Not surprisingly, neither worked very well. Therapy was a band aid, helping ease the pain in the short term, but never really changing the underlying problems. In 2017, I started working with a somatic experiencing therapist, and that’s when I started to see real change.
I have been most helped by the deep relating and listening to my body this work has given me. Now, my purpose is rooted in serving people seeking greater ease and clarity in behaviors, beliefs, and boundaries. I hope this step you’re taking is a significant one towards your own healing guiding light.

A (mostly true) Story
Once upon a time there was a child who was gifted with imagination, silliness, and starlight. Like all children, this child was shiny & bright.
But one day when the child was alone, a scary thing happened. The scary thing wasn’t all that strange to the adults who saw it, but it was to the child. It was confusing and scary, and nobody stepped in to help comfort the child, so the child’s body was left to interpret it.
To protect the child from further harm, the child’s body took charge and slowed their life force just a little to keep them safe.
Some problems began. The child began having trouble sleeping. The child got headaches and stomach aches frequently even though no one could find what was wrong.
The child started to believe something was wrong with them, and stopped trusting themselves.
When the child grew, a wise and gentle healer met them. The healer’s gentle presence helped the child relax. The child’s body allowed the stress response cycle to complete. Their life force to begin to flow again!
Wonderful things began to happen. Many of the problems that had been impossible to mend, started to improve.
Like the child, many of us experienced an event that was too big for us to understand and have bodies that are protecting us still. Learning to listen and attune to the body can create enough expansion to allow issues to heal.
What is Somatic Experiencing?
Somatic experiencing (SE) is a therapeutic technique that uses messages from the body to treat trauma and stress behaviors, beliefs and even symptoms. The goal of SE is to help the body’s stress response to trauma settle with more ease. SEP’s learn how to notice and help clients track their own internal complicated sensations related to both constriction and expansion instead of only thoughts.
Here are some things to know about SE:
- Practitioners
SE practitioners are often people who care about mental health and well being professionals. In order to become an SEP you must complete an 8 module training, have finish personal and group sessions, and do individual and group case consult work.
- Sessions
SE sessions are can be in-person or online and involve clients tracking their physical experiences.
- Techniques
SE practitioners use a variety of mind-body techniques, such as noticing and relating to what is here in this body right now through sensation, hearing, smelling, tasting, touching, seeing and even using imagination or memory to access support. - Benefits
SE can help regulate the nervous system, shifting it from a state of fight-or-flight to rest-and-digest.

I am a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, or SEP. Somatic Experiencing is a beautiful, tried and true, wise healing approach & has positively impacted my life. These are people who seek repair when there is rupture, set boundaries instead of blaming. We are each exquisite, messy, powerful, and complicated, and seek feedback to stay humble.
My gentle practice seeks to match the tempo of the healing body. It is my highest goal to help you find your truest most divine self, safety in your body, and express your authenticity unapologetically.
The tools I will show you emphasize: listening to the messages your body is sending, making sense of them, and learning to relate to those messages with kindness, softness and patience. I’ll also show you how to find where ease lives in you so you can access that support when there is also tightness.
Listening, building curiosity, learning & relating to your body can metabolize stuck energy. This alchemy loosens constriction & creates more self trust. It softens rigid thinking, allowing access to more safety in us so we don’t need it outside of ourselves. Gives us keener clarity around boundaries, shifting imposter syndrome & performance worries, softening muscles & fascia creating less pain, reducing insomnia, increasing digestion……
